Learn to critically engage with social media

The internet is such a great tool: It connects us, gives us a platform to have our voices our heard en masse, it encourages creative expression, and opens a window to a lifetime of entertaining content. But this same internet can also be used by others to harm us!

Unfortunately, there is a dark side to the internet and social media have a dark side – especially for young people. Every time you log on to your favourite social media app, you face the risk of being cyber-bullied; exposed to sexually explicit content; or being targeted by all sorts of trolls and virtual predators. It can happen any time of the day or night, and it limits your ability to use the internet to improve your life, and the lives of others.

But there’s no need freak out and start closing all your social media accounts.  Help is available – and it comes in the shape of Web Rangers!

Web Rangers are a squad of cool & awesome superheroes disguised as school kids, who have been trained as online safety ambassadors, and they can show you how to use the internet responsibly to pursue your passions, hone your talents and develop new skills.

I bet you are dying to know how to connect with them and learn how you can protect yourself online. Well, you have come to the right place!
